The email I sent to Tumblr Support regarding actualcatholicgirlproblems
[the formatting got wonky when I pasted it from email but you get the idea]
Feel free to borrow from this, but PLEASE do send an email to support@tumblr.com telling them that prejudice of any form is unacceptable. Just make sure the subject is “Hate Speech.”
Hello Lovely Tumblr Support!
I’m writing to you with a sincere request that you take down actualcatholicgirlproblems.tumblr.com. It is blatant hate speech against Catholics (not Catholicism in general) and only serves to further ignite a culture of anti-Catholic sentiment within the tumblr community. As a Catholic blogger, I’ve gotten a lot of blatant hate in my ask box (particularly people telling me to kill myself, or wishing that I get raped or the like) but this takes that Catholic hate to a different level entirely.
Particularly this post - http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz5x8hmPAt1rpprpdo1_500.jpg - has set me over the edge. As a two-time survivor of sexual assault (molestation as a child, rape as a teenager), it is disgusting to me that people would make light of sexual assault as a means of making fun religious people. I think it’s clear that this blog is pure hate speech with no legitimate purpose except to propagate anti-Catholic stereotypes.
Even if the blog doesn’t get taken down immediately, I would like to know that this issue has been brought to your attention.
Thank you!
Ansley (doubtingansley.tumblr.com)

Wonder if you’ll get the same response I did. The blog is considered a First Amendment right, and if you’re offended block the blog.
